Plan for nine hours of self-study a week alongside the classes, twelve at Strategic Professional. Access runs from your intake month until the exam session closes, about three months.
Two ways to become a chartered accountant.
Both end at ACCA membership. One starts with the exams. The other builds a diploma and a degree first, by assignment, then joins ACCA with four or five papers already exempted. It is the route most of our accounting students take, and the one we see the most people finish.

Diplomas, then the accounting degree
Assessed by assignment, studied any time online. Each step is a qualification in its own right, paid monthly, with up to 70% back from Malta’s Get Qualified Scheme.

You buy one paper at a time, €250 to €380 each, paid once, and sit them in ACCA’s order. Each has its own page with the week-by-week syllabus. Corporate and Business Law, Taxation and Advanced Taxation are sat with another provider. Already hold an accounting degree or diploma? ACCA exemptions may take you straight past Applied Knowledge; we check with you.

Can I study ACCA online from Malta?
Yes, fully online. The live evening classes run online with LSBF tutors and every one is recorded. You sit the exams at an ACCA exam centre in Malta, and we handle enrolment and exemptions from our office in Sliema.
Can I study ACCA online from Ireland?
Yes. Classes run in the evening on Irish and UK time, recordings are on Canvas, and you sit the exams at an ACCA centre in Ireland. Support from us is by phone, email and video call.
Is there a way to become an accountant without ACCA exams?
Yes. The Online Foundation Diploma in Accounting (Level 4), the Online Diploma in Accounting and Finance (Level 5) and the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance top-up with Arden University are all assessed by assignment. The degree earns exemptions from ACCA papers, so you can join ACCA later at a higher level. In Malta, up to 70% of each course is refunded under the Get Qualified Scheme.
Do I have to do all thirteen ACCA papers with you?
No. You buy one paper at a time and can start with whichever paper comes next for you. If you already hold a relevant degree or diploma, ACCA may exempt you from some papers and we check that with you before you enrol.
When are the classes?
Live classes run in the evening, Monday to Friday, for two to three hours depending on the paper. Every class is recorded and available on Canvas the same night.
What if I miss a class?
You watch the recording. Attendance, live or recorded, is expected: a student who attends nothing may be moved to the next intake.
Where do I sit the exams?
At an ACCA exam centre in Malta. Exams are set and marked by ACCA Global. Before each one you sit a marked mock exam with LSBF.
How long do I have access to each paper?
From the month of your intake until the exams finish, about three months. On-demand computer-based papers stay open for six months.
What does the Pass 1st Time Guarantee cover?
It is LSBF’s guarantee. If you do not pass at the first sitting you may be eligible to attend their resit course free of charge, subject to their terms and attendance conditions. We send you the terms before you enrol.
What is paid on top of tuition?
ACCA registration and annual subscription, ACCA exam fees per sitting, and Malta Institute of Accountants membership. These go directly to ACCA and the MIA. We tell you the current amounts when you ask.
Does the Get Qualified Scheme cover ACCA?
No. ACCA tuition with LSBF is not eligible for Malta’s Get Qualified Scheme. The accounting diplomas and the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance are, subject to Malta Enterprise terms.
What do I need to get into ACCA?
Entry is set by ACCA Global: 18 or over by the start date, a Level 5 qualification or A-levels in Accounts, good written English, and a computer with internet. Not there yet? The Online Diploma in Accounting and Finance meets the requirement, and the Level 4 foundation diploma gets you to it.
Does the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance give ACCA exemptions?
Yes. Graduates are exempt from Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Corporate and Business Law, and from Financial Management if they complete the Financial Management module. ACCA Global confirms exemptions on registration; we check them with you before you decide which route to take.
