Malta MQRIC Statement how to get it

What is an MQRIC statement?

The Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) forms part of the Maltese government’s further and higher education authority (MFHEA). Their job is to check and approve different types of learning, like school or work training, against the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF). Your MQRIC statement helps to show that the things you’ve learned, whether in Malta or another country, match up with the standards in Malta and Europe. For more information about what MQF levels are, and what they mean, you can read our post here.

There are many reasons you might need a document that shows your qualifications are approved. Some examples could be: you want to further your studies, you’re trying to get a new job or a promotion, you need a special allowance for your qualifications or applying for a funding scheme like the the Malta Get Qualified Scheme.

We’ve created this handy little guide with everything you need to get your MQRIC statement in Malta.

Who Is It For?

An MQRIC statement is designed for individuals who are seeking to have their educational or vocational qualifications recognized within Malta or across Europe.

How Do I Apply?

Step 1

Check that your course or degree is not already be recognized at a certain level by the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF).

The MFHEA keeps a list online of all the schools and courses that are approved. If your course is on the “Already Accredited Courses” list, it’s already recognized and you don’t need to do anything else. You can check if your course is already on the list here.

Step 2

Apply: if your course isn’t listed in Step 1, you can apply to have your qualification recognized. You can do this by following the link here.

Step 3

Submit Your Application: Once your form is complete, submit your application. You will also need to pay the application fee via the online platform.

Step 4

Wait for Verification: after submission, your application will be reviewed and verified by the MFHEA. The time taken for verification can vary depending on the volume of applications.

Step 5

Receive Your MQRIC Statement: once verified, you’ll receive your MQRIC statement either digitally or by post, depending on your chosen preference. This statement is an official document that aligns your qualifications with the MQF and EQF.
